His Faithfulness – Notes From The Garden #2
I’m trying to be patient waiting for spring. In the meantime I am reminded of the beauty of summer from this short journal entry from September 8th of last year. Enjoy!

Great is Thy faithfulness – do you remember this gem of a song?
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord unto me!
Nestled right in the middle of this classic hymn is a verse that speaks to the wonder of how creation itself reflects his glory.
Summer and winter and springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon, and stars in their courses above;
Join with all nature in manifold witness,
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy, and love.

Here in the Pacific Northwest we are blessed to experience all 4 seasons. And can I just say that each season has their glory.
The awakening of the earth in spring.
The bounty the garden produces in summer.
The color explosion in autumn.
The chill of jack frost in winter.
As I walked through the garden on this particular evening the breeze brushed my skin ever so lightly. Just enough to refresh me without being chilly. The sun was at that gorgeous stage where it is quickly making its descent while bathing the landscape in golden rays. The garden burst with the fragrance of herbs. Oregano. Lavender. Mint.
I couldn’t help it but softly sing those words over and over.
Summer and winter and springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon, and stars in their courses above;
Join with all nature in manifold witness,
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy, and love.

How have you see God’s faithfulness this week?
Are you longing for spring as I am?
