Garden Journal – June Week 4
Well the garden seems to be kicking it into full gear, but ever so slowly for some reason. Maybe I’m impatient. No, couldn’t be that right? ( says the world’s most impatient gardener ever.) But I digress. Between the luscious peonies and sweet orange roses that are blooming, there is another little flower that is popping up in the windmill garden (main veggie garden) and it makes the perfect compliment to every posy that graces my table. There it is: sweet little Scabiosa. I do believe that Scabiosa, or pincushion flower as it is commonly known, is a beauty that I need at least 25 more plants of. If you…

This week my mom-in-love surprised us with a little visit. one of my cutie pie nieces was with her. My mama happened to be visiting and she, my daughter and I were all still in out fleece jammies after a late night slumber party. we decided to hit the garden with her anyways and we had a lof of fun chatting and watching my niece get such joy out of visiting the chickens. Oh sweet peonies, why do you have to come and grace the early summer garden with your intoxicating aroma just to leave is in a few weeks time? Your fluffy blooms and sweet color make the garden come to life. And the fragrance that you add to the indoors is ever so lovely.
